Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The controller of your data is MAYGO Group, based in Dublin, Ireland. You can contact us about any privacy matter at info@predster.com.

2. What data we collect

We only process the data needed to provide the service:

• Account data (Google Sign-In): your name, email address, profile picture and your Google account identifier. We never see or store your Google password.
• The language preference you choose in the app.
• Content you create: pools you create or join, your predictions, the messages you post in each pool's chat, and the bug reports you send us.
• Usage and technical data: basic server logs needed for operation and security.

We do not collect special-category data (health, beliefs, etc.) and we never ask for payment data: Predster is a free, entertainment-only service with no real-money betting.

3. How we use your data

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
• Let you create pools, join them, make predictions and see leaderboards and statistics.
• Show your name and picture to other members of the pools you take part in (leaderboards, history and chat).
• Provide each pool's chat.
• Handle your bug reports and improve the platform.
• Keep the service secure, prevent abuse and comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract: providing the service you request when you sign up and use Predster.
• Legitimate interest: keeping the platform secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving the service.
• Consent: for any non-strictly-necessary cookies, should we use them in the future.

5. Cookies

We only use strictly necessary cookies (to keep you signed in) and one functional cookie that remembers your language. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Full details are in our Cookies Policy.

6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for commercial purposes. It is shared only with the following providers, acting as processors and to the extent needed to run the service:

• Google, as the sign-in provider (authentication through your Google account).
• Our server hosting provider, where the application runs.
• Our managed database provider, where the application data is stored.
• OpenAI, as our automated content moderation service: the text of the messages you post in pool chats is sent to its classification service to detect prohibited content before publishing it.

For chat moderation, only the message text is sent: your name, your email address and any other identifying data are not. That provider does not use the content to train its models and retains it for a maximum of 30 days for abuse prevention.

We may also disclose data where required by a legal obligation or a competent authority.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

8. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and you take part in pools. If you ask us to delete your account, we will erase or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation or to handle claims.

9. Your rights

You may at any time exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection, and withdraw your consent where processing is based on it.

To exercise them, write to us at info@predster.com. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encrypted traffic (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is infallible, but we work to minimise risks.

11. Minors

Predster is not aimed at children below the minimum age required by applicable law to consent to the processing of their data. If we detect a minor's account without the necessary authorisation, we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or the law. We will always publish the current version on this page, showing the date it was last updated.
